Glasshape is an innovative designer and manufacturer of curved, toughened, laminated and printed specialty glass. After making a significant investment in the very latest glass printing technology, the company is on course to generate fantastic export revenues from their factory in Warkworth.

Glasshape were planning a gala event to launch their new Visionink technology and celebrate nearly 30 years in business. Pead PR were briefed to develop a PR programme that would amplify their story.

A key part of our strategy was to leverage the attendance of a VIP guest, Prime Minister John Key, in a new and creative way. To reintroduce Glasshape and to create excitement around the new VisionInk technology, we sent 30 key media contacts an invitation that included a limited-edition piece of glass art featuring Mr Key himself.

In addition to identifying and inviting key media, developing a comprehensive press office asset, and creating and distributing media releases, Pead PR planned and managed the gala event for Glasshape including the catering, videography and photography. The media coverage generated in New Zealand represented an ROI of 9:1 for our client, and was picked up internationally and on social media too.

Having New Zealand’s Prime Minister confirm he would officiate at our grand opening with just four weeks’ notice, I briefed Pead PR on our need to amplify this once-in-a-generation opportunity for our business. The efficiency with which the team responded to the brief, put into place the press outreach programme and prepped our executive team for media training was best in class. Pead PR’s relentless pitching and chasing of journalists ensured that our story caught their eye and was subsequently published in a great cross section of titles generating unprecedented coverage for our brand. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Pead PR.
